Chen Hao returns to Yunxiang County every year to rest for half a month or so. To him, the county town, with its springlike weather all year round and flowers in full bloom, feels far warmer than the cities full of skyscrapers. It also gives him plenty of artistic inspiration.
Once, by chance, he handled a fight at the skating rink owned by his uncle. One of the boys leading the fight was handsome, with a sharp gaze and a tattoo on his neck. His dark eyes stared right at Chen Hao, their meaning impossible to read. Chen Hao had no desire to figure it out, either.
He never expected that, from then on, the boy would cling tightly to him.
The pressure of work left him barely able to breathe, and his psychological issues grew worse by the day. He tried to escape, like a drowning fish, but couldn't break free or let go.
Yunxiang County has plenty of little streets and alleys, with flower stalls often set up along the roadside. Walking down one of those streets, Chen Hao stopped when a wave of floral fragrance reached him. He saw the boy walking toward him.
The young man held out a Corolla rose. For once, his expression was tender and affectionate, his eyes brimming with love.
"Chen Hao, I'm giving you my love."
My love came to you fiercely and passionately, sincere and not fleeting. I hope you're ready to accept me and love me for the rest of your life.

If Yunxiang County was what trapped him, then Chen Hao's arrival was the savior of Fan Li's life.
That man was always cool and distant, keeping everyone at arm's length, yet Fan Li was utterly obsessed with him.
Because he had seen him at his lowest: surrounded by smoke, the beauty mark beneath his eye all the more alluring. Those eyes that met his were impossibly beautiful, and they stole his soul.
"I want him."
"I'll wash the mud from my whole body and pull out every thorn. Even if it hurts as much as a mermaid coming ashore, I'll take it one step at a time and get closer to him."
