My Stand-In Ended Up with the Original

[This is a danmei novel. The cover features the bottom in women’s clothing.] He Xulan was adored by everyone. The new emperor liked him, as did the prime minister and the general. The previous emperor had even wanted to make him empress, so he ordered the Imperial Astronomical Bureau to invent the absurd lie that a wedding would bring good luck and cure his illness. As for Xueya, he was a stand-in whom everyone used to amuse themselves because they couldn’t have He Xulan. At first, Xueya only wanted to survive, even if it meant wearing the skirts meant for women. Then he discovered that his dreams could predict the future. In the future he saw, he died horribly in the palace, his body wrapped in a straw mat. Xueya, who wanted to save his life and make some money, decisively chose to take He Xulan’s place. He set out to trip He Xulan up in every way he could, even driving a wedge between him and the other people around him. * But one night, as he ran out of the new emperor’s bedchamber wearing a skirt, he ran into He Xulan, who was drunk. The next day, Xueya saw the skirt in shreds. ... From that day on, his skirts always seemed to get torn to pieces in He Xulan’s palace. He no longer had to fake the marks on his body... A bronze-ranked, scheming, weak bottom x a king-ranked, refined scoundrel of a tea-picking top [Reader’s guide] 1. He Xulan is the top, and his straightness is like Schrodinger’s cat. Around men other than the bottom, he’s straight. Around the bottom, he automatically bends into a spiral. 2. The top only likes the bottom, and his interest is crystal clear. It might not be obvious at first, but he never has any intimate interactions with anyone else. 3. The bottom is a pretty fool. 4. [Xueya] is a kind of tea, with plump buds and leaves, rich in nutrients, and free of pests and disease. Theme: With love, kind people can change a scheming flirt, making the world a little more beautiful.
