The Cannon Fodder Also Has a Will to Survive [Rebirth]

[Commentary on chapters is open to everyone. My next book will be I Transmigrated into a Swapped-at-Birth Story and Set Out to Become a Study Maniac.]

◆Lately, many people have said that Xiaojiu is too evil to deserve being reborn. I want to say that the blurb only presents one point of view, so you can’t know the whole story just by reading it.

Besides, I really don’t like spelling everything out in blurbs and spoiling the whole plot... I can only say that the blurb shows the surface. The main story has a much bigger game at play.

◆An Jiu is a villainous cannon-fodder character in a cultivation novel.

To keep people from looking down on him, he thinks he can sacrifice anything.

So he sabotages his own biological older brother, An Yunge, steals his certificate of entry to the immortal sect, impersonates him, and joins the Wanyan Sword Sect as the sect leader’s personal disciple.

Then, after his amnesiac brother joins the sect, An Jiu makes several attempts on his life, only for the protagonists to see through his schemes and expose his identity.

In his panic, An Jiu takes another wrong step and tries to seduce the person he secretly loves: the sect leader of the Wanyan Sword Sect, his master.

In the end, his master personally rips out his spiritual roots to complete An Yunge’s.

After becoming a cripple, An Jiu is humiliated by An Yunge’s supporters, thrown back into the mortal world, and left to starve to death in the street.

At the end of his life, he sobs and murmurs that he wants nothing anymore.

He doesn’t want his identity, his status, or love.

An Jiu never expected that, even after death, he wouldn’t have a grave of his own. And yet, he is suddenly reborn! Only after being reborn does he learn that he is merely a cannon-fodder character in a storybook.

And the timing of his rebirth is neither early nor late. It’s exactly the night he tried to seduce Sword Venerable Weiyue.

Thinking of how, in his previous life, he’d spent every day scheming and striving just to escape his lowly status, only to end up as dust, humbled into the mud, he decides that if this is his fate, he just wants to end this predetermined life early and be reincarnated.

Since everything is fated and everyone already knows he was the one who harmed An Yunge, his master will only give up on him. What’s the point of doing it all again?

He gives up resisting and just wants to be reincarnated as soon as possible.

But... things unfold differently from his previous life.

Why do his senior brothers bring him sacred medicine for his injuries?

Why is his martial uncle fighting his master to take him as a disciple?

Why does An Yunge say he doesn’t blame him for poisoning him?

And why, in the end, does his master say those words with red-rimmed eyes?

“Didn’t you say you liked me? You turned around and climbed into someone else’s bed. Is that what your love for me looks like?”

Didn’t he only ever climb into your bed?

An Jiu is confused at first, then shocked... Could it be that, on the night he returned reborn, he really did sleep with the wrong person?

Later, he prepares to fake his death and escape, leaving himself no way back. But before he falls into the abyss, he sees them running toward him in terror, their anguish seeming all too real.

That day, someone asks him, “Why are you crying?”

An Jiu is a crybaby. He has shed plenty of tears in front of them, begging them not to bully him, but everyone turned a blind eye.

But now he clearly isn’t crying. Why are they saying he’s in tears?

An Jiu stares at them blankly, expressionless, and says nothing.

◆This isn’t meant to be angsty, okay? I’m the doting mom of sweet, sweet shou characters!

The Sickly Crown Prince’s Guide to Survival

[Third-person narration]

I transmigrate into a political intrigue novel as the cannon-fodder crown prince who dies in the very first chapter!

The male leads are Huo Tingchao, a general and non-imperial prince with command of the army, and Han Yanshu, a young chancellor who controls the court and public opinion.

They fight for power and love-hate each other for three years, until finally, recognizing one another’s merits, they decide to support a puppet emperor and rule the world together.

And I, the legitimate crown prince, start with just one bar of health.

I’m chronically ill and unfit to inherit the throne. On the day Huo Tingchao stages a coup, I plan to sneak out of the imperial mausoleum, but Han Yanshu’s men catch me, skin me alive, break my bones, and leave me to die in the mausoleum.

Running means death, and staying means death too...

After transmigrating into the book, I can’t sleep at night. I spend every waking moment obsessing over how to stay alive. After thinking it over and over, I decide I’m suited to become the puppet emperor three years from now!

The only problem is that I have to live until then.

So I start my extreme survival strategy. Caught between two powerful men, I flatter one today and play the other’s devoted lapdog tomorrow.

At last, the three-year deadline arrives...

The good news is that I survive on a sliver of health all the way to the end.

The not-so-good news is that I’ve lost my chastity and am carrying someone’s baby. I have no idea whose...

Oh no, this was an mpreg story all along?

I Transmigrated into a Swapped-at-Birth Story and Set Out to Become a Study Maniac

After an accident involving a crowd crush, Yu Huan transmigrates to another world and becomes a wealthy family’s fake young master, who shares his name.

After the fake and real young masters each return to their rightful places, the fake young master refuses to accept that he’s now a commoner. He forces his way into an aristocratic academy and causes trouble left and right, going completely crazy.

He doesn’t study, spends all day harassing the real young master, and is jealous and resentful of the wealthy, powerful young masters, offending almost every rich second-generation student at school.

Everyone turns against him, mocking and toying with him. They set up “romantic traps” and “friendship schemes” to manipulate the fake young master, then cruelly tell him it was all fake once he believes them.

“You didn’t actually think we’d be interested in you, did you?”

“Are you even worth a single strand of the real young master’s hair?”

In the original story, the fake young master can’t take it anymore and slashes his wrists.

Now Yu Huan has inherited this whole mess...

When he opens his eyes, he finds himself beneath a man who looks like a male model, both in face and figure.

The male model smiles and asks how he plans to pay for his services.

Yu Huan thinks for a moment. “I only accept cash.”

The male model falls silent.

Yu Huan has never read a novel before. He doesn’t know what it means to transmigrate into a book, or what role this body plays in the story. All he knows is that he’s been given a fresh start and can go to school again.

That’s wonderful!

As for those lunatics from the original story, what do they have to do with him?

Because Yu Huan knows absolutely nothing about the plot, every step he takes is outside the story. By accident, he changes the original owner’s fate and lives a life of his own.

Meanwhile, those who once mocked and humiliated him gradually fall head over heels for him without even realizing it.

But no matter how obsessed or remorseful they become, they can’t earn even one extra glance from him.

Pei Fanghe thinks the fake young master of the Yu family used to be stupid and crazy, but now he’s just an idiot.

After the fake and real young masters each return to their rightful places, he refuses to accept that he’s now a commoner. He forces his way into an aristocratic academy and causes trouble left and right, going completely crazy.

Before he loudly declared, “Getting a pretty boy like myself into bed is as easy as beckoning,” Pei Fanghe hadn’t paid any attention to him.

Of course, Yu Huan threatened to “sleep with” more than one person. Pei Fanghe was just especially “kind” and actually let him “sleep with” him once.

Pei Fanghe had only meant to watch the show, but after that, he noticed the fake young master seemed different.

Pei Fanghe narrowed his eyes, growing more intrigued.
