This is a lighthearted story with a serious tone, and all the plot unfolds under the Professor's generous care.
Before reading, please check for potential triggers:
1. This story involves transmigration and an original protagonist, who comes from the Hunter world and knows nothing about the plot. You don't need to have read Hunter to enjoy it; the story will explain things, and I'll keep references to the non-Harry Potter world to a minimum.
2. The protagonist is extremely powerful, but doesn't concern himself with worldly affairs.
3. The story is set against the original canon and rarely deviates from it, but it is not a retelling of the original story.
4. Since many people dislike Dumbledore and admire Voldemort, I feel I have to clarify that the characters stay true to canon. I won't vilify old D, or whitewash V. V is exactly as he was in the original, personality and all. Old D is a good man who is very calculating. I don't believe that “the greater good” makes him unworthy of respect.
5. The protagonist's appearance is based on Vincent from FFVII, but apart from his looks, his personality, abilities, and everything else have absolutely nothing to do with Vincent. Sorry to those who like him. m(_ _)m I really do like Vincent, which is why he was the first person I thought of while planning the story. I wasn't deliberately trying to distort his character.
6. The protagonists won't fall in love. I don't think either of them will ever love anyone again. As for romance, I don't think Mitino has ever experienced it, and the Professor gave all his love to Lily. Even if he ends up with Xiao Mi, I think the Professor will still love Lily.
What I want to portray is the two of them slowly learning to trust each other, gradually opening up, and eventually realizing that the other is the most important person in their life. Neither of them is the type to talk about love, so there won't be confessions, sweet talk, or passionate romance. There will only be the natural importance they hold for each other and the bond of being the one person each can trust to have their back. (In my opinion, it's a love that will never be spoken aloud. So if you were drawn in by the lack of declarations of love and dislike romance, please take note: the two do end up together, but it's not entirely a romantic relationship.)
The title, Edge of the World, refers not only to the Professor and Mitino's circumstances, but also to their relationship, a feeling that hovers at the edge of something. As for what kind of edge, let's wait until I've written most of it, and then everyone can judge for themselves.
I'm a big fan of older men, and of course I like Snape best. I never used to read many transmigration stories, but after reading a few Harry Potter transmigration stories on Jinjiang, I found them quite good. Yet afterward I couldn't help feeling wistful: if you didn't know the original story or understand what Snape was really like, who would be drawn to the Professor? Who could truly appreciate him?
This may sound like asking for trouble, but even if a transmigrated protagonist knows the plot and understands the Professor's real suffering, and a beautiful relationship develops, I don't think it would be fair at the beginning. The Professor would be appreciated for his feelings and his pain, not for his personal charm. Without memories of a past life, I don't think most transmigrated protagonists would approach the Professor on their own. So if they didn't know the story, who would appreciate him?
Then I realized I'd have to bring someone over from Meteor City. Their strength and their purity are what make this story possible. Their strength is simply my personal desire to protect the Professor, while their dark purity is what makes every possible turn in the story possible. In their world, there's no right or wrong. If something belongs to them, if they want it, they take it and hold on, even if it means going against the whole world. And they aren't reckless fools either: they know how to avoid danger and pursue their own interests.

Custom print edition and new story announcement
Custom printing for Edge of the World is now available. To keep the word count under 300,000, I removed the Dementor skit that wasn't related to the main story. Although more than 10,000 words were cut, don't worry, no plot has been removed. I only compressed the wording repeatedly.

Who is still crying in 2022 because of this surprising humble wish...
I think this book is the best hp and hunter that I have ever seen where world views collide. In the end, Snape understood and tolerated Mitino, and our Mitino got what he wanted most in his heart. Like every Meteor Streeter, he would hold on tightly and never let go. It's such a great ending. I like it every time I watch it.
It's great. I don't know how to express my feelings except these two words, but it is really beautiful.
I finally finished reading this great article from 10 years ago. I like the story written by my wife!
When I come back to rewatch it, every time I see the little white flower about Xiaomi at the end, I feel very sad and shed tears. . .
This ending has so much staying power.
Ah, I've finished watching it. There are a lot of locks in the middle, and it's intermittent, but it's really beautiful.
Xiao Baihua was really touched. They will continue to live like this in the future until one of them leaves in the middle of the semester.
See if you have fully booked it
I watched it again in elementary school and then in college. I rewatch it every few years. It's still so beautiful.
