[Western Fantasy] Did the Duke's Only Daughter Succeed in Breaking Off Her Engagement Today?

When she was four, Lilian forced six-year-old Ulysses to become her betrothed. But after entering the School of Magic, Ulysses distinguished himself, and thanks to his extraordinary magical talent, earned national mage certification at the age of seventeen.

Lilian remembered all the ways she'd bossed him around since childhood, and got cold feet.

My esteemed mage, I was foolish and blind back then. I'll break off our engagement right now and set you free...

What? You don't want to?

Help! Someone! The Empire's strongest mage has lost his mind!!!

At six, Ulysses became a candidate to marry the young lady he'd always admired. It was the happiest day of his life. With the Sayers family supporting him wholeheartedly, he worked hard and finally earned national mage certification at seventeen.

Then, just as he was preparing to propose to Lilian with his mage's badge as a token, he heard that she was planning to break off their engagement and might have found someone else.

Ulysses was angry.
