Imperial Inspector Nie Xiaoqian [Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio]

It's a first for a married couple to argue their way into transmigrating.

Nie Xiaoxi became Nie Xiaoqian, and she was supposed to have a life-or-death struggle with the thousand-year-old tree spirit. Instead, they became best friends.

Ning Qinghe became Ning Caichen. He thought he'd be able to rely on Yan Chixia to vanquish all his enemies, but Yan Chixia nearly annoyed him to death.

The four of them thought they'd end up as sworn enemies, but through a twist of fate, they became imperial commissioners. They investigated corrupt officials while also playing matchmaker...

A little scene:

Ning Qinghe: "Yan Chixia is a cute goofball, and the thousand-year-old tree spirit is an adorable girl. How's the plot supposed to go?"

Nie Xiaoxi: "Follow the plot's path and leave the plot with nowhere to go."

Ning Qinghe: "Honey, as a six-foot-two man, I think I need to save face. Could you not slap me?"

Nie Xiaoxi: "You only need half your dignity. I'll leave half your face intact."
