Dr. Johannes Faust, a renowned mage of legendary (magical) stature, a permanent VIP resident of Heaven, and the ex-boyfriend of a certain man who calls himself a demon but is actually Morpheus, the Dream of the Endless.
One day, while happily walking his dog in Heaven, the doctor happened to hear Aziraphale, Heaven's special envoy to Earth, mention the Dream's disappearance and the series of strange events that had followed on Earth.
The doctor: "!"
Though he would love to pin Morpheus down and shove his face into the deepest circle of Hell, that should be his job! Only he gets to bully Morpheus!
He lost all interest in walking the dog and descended to Earth in a fury.
Faust: I want to see who dares to steal my man.
With tears in their eyes, the angels of Heaven asked Liszt to play Mendelssohn's "Wedding March" and threw a joyous farewell party.
The angels: Please, please, give the CP we ship a happy ending!
Chuck, hearing the angels' collective prayer over the angel radio: "..."
Has Heaven been invaded by something strange? He remembers the angels being much more serious than this.

After descending to Earth, Faust encounters Kryptonians flying through the sky, the Dark Knight, a Gotham urban legend who prowls the night, two brothers who hunt ghosts, a demon and an angel who eat together every day, a telephone booth that mysteriously appears and disappears on the streets of London...
Faust: "..."
I understand Earth less and less these days.
Never mind, I'd better hurry up and find him. The sooner the world returns to normal, the sooner I can go back to Heaven and pet my dog.
As he searches for the missing Dream, Faust is forced to explain who he is to everyone he meets.
Yes, he is Johannes Faust, a mage from centuries ago.
Yes, he once tried to summon a demon, but no, the one who answered wasn't a demon. It was Morpheus, the Lord of Dreams, who was bored.
...Yes, he's here to find Morpheus.
...No! They broke up ages ago! Anyone who ships them, take the next right and get out. Don't act up in front of the people involved. To say it again, they really did break up!
Unfortunately, it seems no one believes his explanation.
Faust: gives up explaining.jpg
Believe what you want. He's used to it by now.
The other person involved: ! He didn't deny it. He admitted it! Hahaha, they never broke up!

Morpheus is the Dream of the Endless. Faust is based on Christopher Marlowe's 1588 play Doctor Faustus, Goethe's Faust, and folk legends about Faust. He has some additional fan-created characterization, and can also be viewed as an original character to some extent.
Theme: Always hold fast to your principles when faced with temptation.
