The Flowers Will Bloom Again Next Year [Modern Romance]

Long afterward, Ke Yu could still remember that day at the airport in perfect detail, right down to the creases in his clothes, the pattern on his shoes, and the patch of light reflected from his watch. What puzzled her most was how Wang Zibai's face grew clearer with time, as if it were being enlarged frame by frame right before her eyes. Looking back on it made her feel happy, but that happiness was followed by a sense of desolation.

"Young Master Bai could get anything he wanted around here, right? He has money and women. So why kidnap that real estate tycoon?"

Ping Si looks at the little flower bed downstairs and says, "Those Gesang flowers you planted three years ago are thriving."

Wang Zibai says, "They were just a packet of wildflower seeds. Some people say they're not Gesang flowers, but cosmos."

"Cosmos or Gesang flowers, why have you always liked these 'wildflowers'?"

"They're eternal loners. One stem, one flower, with nothing to lean on. If they grow too tall without sturdy stems, they fall over."
