Xiao Sulai was a palace cat.

More precisely, Xiao Sulai was a cat demon living in the palace.

He had rarely returned to the capital, and at the palace banquet he saw the emperor dote on a long-haired calico cat. The emperor had granted the cat the imperial surname and even hung a jade-carved longevity lock around its neck. Such behavior from a foolish ruler made his anger surge, and he got into a huge argument with the emperor.

Li Shuofeng and the emperor had known each other since they were young and were sworn brothers who had faced life and death together. Arguments like this were nothing unusual between them. At most, they’d need a couple of days to cool off.

Li Shuofeng didn’t think much of it. The border had urgent matters to attend to, so after spending a few days in the capital, he packed up and headed back. Somehow, that cat had managed to sneak into his convoy. Every night it slept with its paws around his neck, drank only from his cup, pawed at his armor with its soft little paws, and whenever it saw him, it would put all its strength into yowling at him.

Li Shuofeng thought, This little cat really loves me.

No wonder His Majesty dotes on this little cat so much. Cats really are irresistible.

A soft little ball in his arms, punching and kicking, and the more he kissed it, the louder it meowed and the louder it meowed...

1. This is a fluffy, silly little sweet romance, and it won’t be too long. Everything in the plot is there to serve the romance and sweetness.

There’ll be differences in size, skin tone, height, and so on: this is all about my very conventional tastes. Kitty can turn into a human, but his magic is weak, so at first he can’t stay in human form for long.
