[Cross Talk X Table Tennis] Soaring Crane

Wu Ruizhou's only dream in life was to perform crosstalk on stage.

When they said she shouldn't have long hair on stage, she shaved her head. When they said her fundamentals were weak, she got up at five in the morning to practice. When they said women should go home and support their husbands and raise children...

She stood on stage, raised her brows, and grinned, showing her canines.

“Pah! My husband doesn't even mind, so who are you to run your mouth, you freak?”

When she became a crosstalk master, everyone took her place on stage for granted, as if it had always been hers and had never changed.

No one would see the tears and sweat. They could only see her glory and success.

[Every story told about me is nothing but scraps of paper. They're all wrong, and every one of them must be rewritten.]

“My master gave me the name Qinghe, hoping I'd surpass my master, and that, like a crane, my call would ring out across the nine marshes and reach the heavens. He hopes I'll lead the Xiaoyao Qu Troupe to rise on the wind, live up to his trust, and never abandon my lofty ambitions!”

Crosstalk performer Wu Qinghe, formerly known as Wu Ruizhou.

Her name is stubborn, and she's even more stubborn. She's made it this far on sheer stubbornness: a wild-donkey-style comic, nicknamed Wu Qinglv. She was born with a sour face and has a bad temper, but never holds a grudge. When she worked as a sports reporter, she hit it off with China's national table tennis players Chen Qi and Zhang Jike (because none of them had much sense). She can't resist gentle people, and has been brought to heel time and again: for instance, her preschool-teacher-trained partner often leaves her speechless on stage, and she somehow ended up marrying Ma Long.

“Comrade Ma Long, you failed the test the organization put you through.”

“To hell with the test. I'm about to commit a crime against you.”
