Nian Huai'an Doesn't Want to Die (The Gods Arc)

The Old Gods were destroyed by faith, and false gods seized the crown.

Honey wine flowed into the dusk, and the ruins of the gods emerged from the depths.

Nian Huaian, an archaeological researcher, was assigned in her father's place to investigate the first ancient divine site discovered in Egypt. While helping investigate the living corpses, she ran into her partner, Xiao Yun, who had lately been avoiding her.

She had only meant to observe the corpses coming back to life, but accidentally fell into an undiscovered pharaoh's tomb.

Golden-red murals in the divine tomb depicted the cycle of cause and effect.

The young pharaoh's heart was cut out by the high priest, who wore a pure-gold mask.

In a vision that seemed both real and unreal, Nian Huaian stepped onto the altar and lifted the coffin lid, only to see her own dead face.

As sacred music echoed and the gods smiled down with lowered eyes, seeming to pity the mortals, they called on her to pay with her life.
