My palace-intrigue novel, Qing Dynasty: A Palace Maid Becomes a Consort, is now available. Click my profile to check it out.
Synopsis (harem novel):
After drinking herself to death at a work function, Wen Nuan transmigrates as one of Kangxi's low-ranking consorts, just a tiny bit better off than a palace maid!
She hears the emperor has three thousand beauties in his harem, all of them scheming rivals. How is she supposed to survive?
In her previous life, she worked hard to earn a raise and buy a house. This time, it looks like she'll have to work hard to get promoted!
The one good thing about being a low-ranking consort is that there's plenty of room to move up!
Look at that Noble Consort: as long as the Empress is alive, she'll never have a chance to rise any higher!
Look at the Empress: she can only become the Empress Dowager after the emperor dies!
But with so much room to advance, she doesn't have to wait for anyone to die before she can climb the ranks!
So she needs to stay positive and optimistic, and she'll carve out a bright future for herself!
Content warning: This is a slow-burn story, and the male lead is somewhat of a jerk. The female lead doesn't fall for him. Proceed with caution, and please keep comments civil. No personal attacks, thank you!
Also recommended: the author's completed novels, Qing Dynasty: The Charming Maid of the Palace, Qing Dynasty: The Thirteenth Prince's Consort, and Qing Dynasty: A Tapestry of Flowers.
Coming soon: Palace Maid Becomes a Consort
Synopsis (to be added when the novel gets its own page; please bookmark it)
From the moment Yue Wei entered the palace, she knew she might be the historical Consort Ding, one of the longest-lived consorts in the Qing Dynasty, of the Wanyan clan.
At the time, all she wanted was freedom. She worked diligently in the palace for nearly ten years, and was finally about to leave and find a world of her own.
But just as she was about to go, something went wrong, and a palace maid accidentally became a consort.
With freedom on one side and the lure of power and status on the other, what will she choose?
Yue Wei: All I ever wanted was freedom. But since things have turned out this way, I'll take both the fish and the bear's paw!
Later, Kangxi watched as the gentle and kind, tender and loving, lively and adorable, bright and dazzling women in his harem all became utterly repulsive.
He watched his dutiful, clever, virtuous, and dignified sons fight tooth and nail for the throne, turn against their brothers, and grow to hate their father.
And the son he thought least of, Yin Tao, and his most unassuming woman became the ultimate winners of the imperial court and the palace when he suffered a stroke.
Note: Set during the Kangxi era of the Qing Dynasty, with a partly fictional setting. No historical nitpicking, please. The female lead is quiet and unassuming in public, but beautiful and ruthless underneath. She doesn't fall in love. Proceed with caution.
Theme: Hard work pays off.
Very pretty! I like palace fighting dramas where the male and female protagonists are not romantically inclined! More real! I think people who are good at history are suitable for time travel!
Ha
Damn, write a side story about Kangxi and the heroine!
Ahhhhhhh, there is no extra story about Kangxi and the heroine in the end, so I'm not happy.
Hahahahaha I really like this plot~ In fact, Kangxi was a university student, and he himself had taken foreign cinchona cream. When he was in power, he seemed to have produced an atlas of the human internal organs and bones, but it was too shocking at the time so it was not published. I watched it on TV
It's a tie in one day. It's so good. After reading so many clear-cut articles, it really made my eyes light up. Let's see you in other books. (There are some chapters that still need to be caught, but after all, I haven't finished them after 20 years of writing.)
Concubine Tong is the best character in the Qing Chuan books.
Seeing that the author's column is writing about Qianlong, I guess the next emperor should be Lao Si.
I always read the comments and read the article. I never expected that it smells so good.
I want to watch Kangkang and Nuannuan's extras
