I Went Through Two Tribulations of Love with the Demon Lord

* This is a story about an immortal lord, not a xianxia story. I couldn't find any old-fashioned stories about immortal lords, so I had to write one myself.

Completed. Neither the quality nor the style is going to change. If you can't keep reading, it means we're not a good fit and this story isn't for you. Neither of us is right or wrong. If you're not the target audience, move on. If you insist on complaining in my comments, I'll consider it deliberate trolling.

The entire Heavenly Court knows that Hua Shen Fuyue and the Demon Venerable Weitan are sworn enemies.

The reason is that five hundred years ago, when they went to the mortal realm to undergo tribulations, the Matchmaker never tied their red strings, and the Netherworld Lord never assigned their fates. Yet, somehow, they fell for each other, broke away from the tribulations of love they'd been destined to face, and spent a lifetime as lovers.

Afterward, their souls returned to their rightful places, and both of them shut themselves away.

Five hundred years later, by an absurd coincidence, they have to undergo tribulations of love at the same time again.

When they meet in front of the Bridge of Helplessness, the Flower God silently looks at the Matchmaker, and the Demon Venerable silently looks at the Netherworld Lord. Their meaning is crystal clear: If you let me get tied up with "him" by accident again, just you wait.

So the Matchmaker hurriedly tied a dozen or so mortal red strings to the Flower God, thinking that would make absolutely sure. The Netherworld Lord waved his hand and sent them to opposite ends of the world, thinking that would make absolutely sure, too.

But twenty years later, they still ended up together.

The Heavenly Emperor: Bah! I think you wanted to end up together all along!

Mutual indulgence, with a gentle flower god gong who can fight about as well as the God of War, paired with a demon venerable shou who's poised and imposing in the Demon Realm, but so devoted in the mortal world that he completely sheds his demonic persona.

Warnings:

1. Gong-centric, though some parts may switch between the gong's and shou's perspectives about equally, depending on the plot. Fuyue, Shen Chenfeng, and Qiu Kuangxing are all gongs.

2. Not a typical immortal-lord story. My take on getting back together after a breakup, with a substantial amount of the story set in the mortal world.

Theme: Peace throughout the world, and lovers finding their way to each other.
