Ji Yunlan died on her way to a charity gala, then was reborn in the 1980s with a built-in lucky koi fish constitution.

As soon as she arrived, a shrew grabbed her and beat her up. Thanks to that shrew, Ji Yunlan learned that the original owner had only recently gotten married, and that rumors said her husband was impotent and incredibly ugly. After thirty years of being single, Ji Yunlan was completely unaccustomed to skipping straight past dating and getting a husband, so she spent her days courting death and trying to get a divorce.

Her husband was away on a mission. Ji Yunlan called him every few days, until everyone in his unit knew the major's wife was a lunatic.

When Yu Chen returned from his mission, he heard what Ji Yunlan had been up to and was so exasperated that he planned to go home and have a serious talk with her.

When she heard her bargain-bin husband was coming home, she imagined all kinds of ugly, lecherous old men and was so scared she couldn't sleep all night.

She eventually drifted off. Sensing someone in the room, she grabbed her pillow and started whacking away. Then she finally got a good look at the man in front of her.

Ji Yunlan froze.

Having been smitten with soldiers since childhood, Ji Yunlan looked at her husband in uniform, all alluring and manly, and deeply regretted her earlier idiocy. She didn't want a divorce at all. She just wanted to have this man.

It wasn't that she judged people by their looks. She'd just been single so long that she didn't want to be a dog anymore.

Yu Chen only felt that Ji Yunlan had been getting crazier by the day. One day she was sweetly calling him "hubby" on the phone, and the next she was kicking him out of bed and pretending she didn't know him.

When he was away, she constantly made a fuss about getting divorced. As soon as he came home, she clung to him and wouldn't let go, even pleading to follow him to his post.

Just as Yu Chen was at a loss, he heard Ji Yunlan arguing with someone in the family housing compound and fiercely standing up for him. The sight captivated him, and all his pent-up frustration disappeared.

After thinking it over for three days and three nights, he finally reached a conclusion: his wife's strange behavior was all a ploy to get his attention!
