Next book: The Big Shot Cries at My Grave Every Day
Synopsis:
Song Yao transmigrated into a book and became a cannon-fodder character in a period novel.
The original owner was the youngest daughter in the family and the most doted on, so she was spoiled, willful, and deeply disliked.
She was also rejected by the male lead, her "blind date." Later, jealous of the female lead's beauty and popularity, she started working against the leads,
causing trouble for them until the villain, who was obsessed with the female lead, killed her and put an end to it all.
Fortunately, when Song Yao arrived, none of that had happened yet.
She took the initiative to part amicably with the male lead she'd been matched with, then followed her family to an island as part of a military relocation.
When she got to the island, she discovered it was truly paradise.
Sweet-centered abalone and wild sea cucumbers were there for the taking, and she even lived in a proper "ocean-view home."
Song Yao lounged around, thinking how silly the original owner had been. With her background, how could life not be comfortable?
When she got bored, she'd go to the shooting range, where she met a painfully skinny boy.
He was an island villager with no parents and three or four younger siblings to raise. He was quiet every day, with a sinister look in his otherwise lifeless eyes.
Song Yao felt sorry for him and helped the poor kid once.
Then one day, Song Yao learned the poor kid's name:
Chen Hengsen.
Song Yao was stunned. Wasn't he the villain of this book?
She hadn't planned to get involved again, but looking at the villain she'd already fed until he looked like a proper human being, Song Yao sighed.
Raising a pig was still raising something, and raising a villain was no different.
Later, by a twist of fate, the protagonists all came together, and Song Yao pushed the villain she'd raised, now fair and plump, into their midst.
Chen Hengsen: You're telling me to go after someone else?
Song Yao: That's how your character is written.
Chen Hengsen (through gritted teeth): Then why have you been so good to me?
Song Yao (innocently): I've raised so many animals anyway. One more makes no difference.
Chen Hengsen: ...
I recommend my friend's currently updating historical romance comedy, The Bodhisattva's Spoiled Ways, by Qing Si Zhuo Mo.
Synopsis: That night, in a ruined temple, the defeated and wounded young marquis was utterly exhausted. He saw a graceful bodhisattva leap down from a lotus pedestal. His mouth and tongue were injured, and as he watched her approach, he hadn't even managed to beg before she yanked off his clothes and rummaged around.
"There's nothing here."
The little bodhisattva swore as she walked away.
A moment later, she came back, still cursing, and fed him the sour, stinking food she'd found.
He couldn't resist. He cursed the barbarian in his heart.
Yet a year later, at the wedding his family had arranged for him, he saw that little barbarian again.
This time, she wore bright red and had sparkling eyes and pearly teeth, pretending to be gentle and virtuous. He sneered and reached out, ready to get revenge for what she'd done that day.
But then he found himself staring at the faint rouge on her lips.
Coming soon: The Big Shot Cries at My Grave Every Day
Xia Yunzhi transmigrated into a book. To be reborn, she had to become cannon fodder to put the protagonist group through their trials, playing all kinds of roles: an old monster who ate people, a seductress who kept male companions, a scheming little eunuch in the imperial palace, and more.
Xia Yunzhi thought it was a good deal. Playing a few cannon-fodder roles in exchange for another life was worth it. But then something unexpected happened.
The first time:
"I'll kill you, you man-eating monster!"
The protagonist ran a sword through Xia Yunzhi, but she smiled. Great! I'm one step closer to being reborn!
But before she lost consciousness, she saw the poor kid she'd once helped by chance clenching his fists, his eyes reddening.
The second time:
"I'll kill you, you sex fiend!"
The protagonist ran a sword through Xia Yunzhi. Great! I'm two steps closer to being reborn!
Before she could even smile, she saw the poor kid, who should have been unconscious and injured, struggling toward her. His injuries had left him unable to speak, but his eyes looked as if they were about to bleed.
The Nth time:
"I'll kill you, you demon!"
The protagonist raised a sword... and was sent flying. Somehow, the poor kid had become a powerful being, so powerful that everyone prostrated themselves at his feet, even the female lead who had once rejected him now eagerly tried to win his favor.
But he wasn't interested in any of them. His eyes were fixed only on Xia Yunzhi, who had once helped him.
"While I'm here, who dares lay a hand on her?!"
Xia Yunzhi cried. The big shot walked up to her and gently wiped away her tears. "Don't be afraid. No one will ever hurt you again."
Xia Yunzhi: "You're so mighty, big shot!"
But in her heart, she thought, "Just let me die. I want to be reborn!"
Only when she saw the cenotaphs the big shot had built for her after each "death," row upon row of graves, each one mourned by him, did she understand. Dying was no longer an option.
In the Demon Palace, Song Huaizui calmly accepted death. For Xia Yunzhi, he was willing to die.
But at the critical moment, someone stepped in front of him. Watching that person slowly disappear, Song Huaizui was stunned.
"Huaizui, live well."
Those were the words she left behind before disappearing.
But he didn't listen.
In the three thousand formations of the righteous sects, Song Huaizui walked barefoot among them, giving up all his cultivation as he waited to be cut to pieces. Before he died, his eyes were red, filled with endless longing. "How could I bear to let you die?"
Reading guide:
1. Slow burn, everyday family life, eating and drinking.
2. The male lead is barely around at first and officially appears in chapter 23~
3. Family life is the main focus. The female lead has her own career, which changes at each stage of her life and with her circumstances. She isn't always career-focused.
4. This is a fictional setting, so please don't compare it to reality~~
Theme: A simple, peaceful life is what truly matters.
Spread flowers and happy Children's Day
In ancient times, there was Lu Zhishen pulling up weeping willows upside down, and now there is Song Yao pulling up a little native dog upside down~
Woohoo, I feel like I still have more to say... The author's writing is very good! When will there be an extra episode? Really want to see it! There are so many couples in it, what's the ending like? I most want to see the follow-up of the second brother! I can't see the follow-up, I feel a bit scratching my head, this series is in my lifetime, I hope to see the follow-up again!
Happy Children's Day
Oh my God, second brother is such a good person. Why do you have to be paired with someone like this?
I haven't done anything well. I watched Wohuo.
Oh my god, I'm speechless. The eldest brother and the second brother must be almost 20. Why do I feel like a high school student? It stands to reason that all family members in the army will learn something. But they two can't do anything. Liu is even more annoyed.
Emm, is this plot delayed to make the heroine rich? Ha ha ha ha
There's no need for Father Song to be so excited. He doesn't say anything to his children, doesn't communicate well, gets into a cold war when he's angry, and runs away from home.
Isn't this a mess? Too abrupt???
