I Crossed Love Tribulations with an Immortal

Qing Heng was an insignificant rogue immortal, but she was told she had to undergo a trial of love with the lofty Immortal Jinyu. In return, when she came back, one wish of hers would be granted.

She asked Siming whether she could wish for anything at all. Even for him to help her find the boy she had lost a thousand years ago?

At the mention of the boy, Siming’s expression turned strange, but he still nodded.

And so the unambitious rogue immortal Qing Heng became the partner in the trial of love for the formidable Immortal Jinyu, whom everyone treated with a measure of wariness.

It was only five lifetimes. For Qing Heng, that would pass in the blink of an eye.

But after descending to the mortal realm, Qing Heng discovered that things weren’t as simple as Siming had said.

In the first life, Jinyu became a cultivator, dashing and charming, every frown and smile radiating an over-the-top devotion that could make anyone swoon. Only his eyes resembled a deep pool untouched by the thaw. She was a cat demon who had only just gained sentience.

In the second life, in a land overrun by demons and monsters, Qing Heng became a princess and married a resourceful yet gentle and devoted general.

In the third life, Qing Heng became a carefree young lady. Just when she thought this life might be better, she unexpectedly met a lively, adorably clueless young knight-errant who fell in love with her at first sight.

In the fourth life, when Qing Heng met him, cold-faced and cunning, she shrank back in a very undignified way. Fortunately, in this life she was an empress with power over the realm, but she still couldn’t escape Siming’s script.

After four lifetimes, Qing Heng felt exhausted in body and mind. She could never break free of those feelings. She wanted to tell Siming to forget about that stupid wish. All she wanted now was time to heal her wounded heart. But Siming told her that Jinyu was very satisfied with his trial of love, so he would grant her wish ahead of schedule.

Qing Heng flung open the door, overjoyed and eager to see the boy she had longed for a thousand years to meet again, only to find a familiar figure in the room.

Immortal Jinyu looked up. His face was so beautiful that Qing Heng both loved and resented it. He smiled at her. "Do you remember now?"

Qing Heng gave an awkward laugh. "Immortal, don’t joke around."

Jinyu’s smile faded. He rose and slowly approached, pinning her against the wall. "I never joke."

Much later, Qing Heng asked Siming in puzzlement, "Why wasn’t there a fifth life?"

Siming nearly spat out his tea.

Jinyu smiled faintly. "This fifth life is forever."
