[Beautiful, healing little mermaid x gloomy, twisted defective specimen]

1.

The mermaid princess, Eleanor, was reborn.

God gave her a full 49 days. If she found true love before the deadline, she could stay in the human world forever and enjoy a human life.

However, on her very first day back in the ocean, she was captured by a certain scientist who didn't know what was good for him.

As Dennis reeled in his fishing rod, he exclaimed, "Wow, I'm in luck today. I've caught a treasure."

And then... Eleanor was cruelly locked in a tank of cold water and transported all the way to an underwater laboratory.

Eleanor, captured the moment she returned to the world above, was on the verge of tears. She pounded on the glass. "?@#@!#"

Translation: Hey! I still have to find the prince and find true love! Let me out!

But Dennis couldn't understand mermaid speech. Humming a tune, he pondered how to use a mermaid to solve the problem of marine life nearing extinction.

Instead, in a dark corner, a boy with black hair and red eyes, shackles around his neck, stared at her expressionlessly.

2.

Qu Xiao was a boy from the East. He was also a defective specimen discarded after Dennis's experiment failed.

He couldn't escape, and he was long since tired of spending year after year with only sea turtles for company.

That day, perhaps God wanted to save him.

Dennis had actually brought back a real mermaid! And her tail shimmered with the golden glow of royalty!

The boy sat on the floor with one leg bent, tilted his head back, and spoke in an intensely seductive, low voice. "I can help you escape, but..."

He licked his lips seductively, smiling like a poisonous rose. "You'll have to pay me in kind."

Forty-nine days later

The boy wrapped his arms around Eleanor from behind, kissing her swanlike neck and biting her earlobe. His voice was gentle yet chilling. "You've already stolen my heart. If you try to escape now..."

"I'll destroy you completely."

[Tips]:

1. The characters, backgrounds, plot, and everything else are entirely original and have nothing to do with the fairy tale The Little Mermaid!

2. The male lead is from the East. I simply like Chinese names... there's no special reason.
