How to Make a Name for Yourself: Start by Taking Out the Boss!

Si Bai faces three major problems in life.

1. An accident during a mission turned him from an ordinary person into a gene evolver. He was lucky to survive, but the physical damage caused by his genetic mutation can't be completely repaired. He needs an injection of gene stabilizer every seven days, and the medication is so expensive that few can afford it.

2. The leader of the mercenary organization he works for is dissatisfied with his performance and is trying to fire him, but there's no severance pay.

3. After searching every pocket, he has only two coins to his name.

Looks like the cyber-god is determined to claim his life.

Fortunately, there is always a way out. The day before he is about to be thrown out of the mercenary organization like trash, Si Bai suddenly awakens a System called 748. It comes with a super-powered wish-fulfillment novel shop, where he can exchange recognized reputation points for gene stabilizers, consciousness fracture repair kits, prosthetic limbs with no side effects, and more.

Question: As a mercenary, how do you earn a reputation?

Si Bai pulls up his leader's information, fishes a gun from under his pillow, loads it, and sneers...

Obviously, by making himself infamous and terrifying everyone who hears the name Bai!

A few days later.

Word gets out that Jerrold Birdie, one of the leaders in the personnel department of the mercenary organization [Dark Tide], was found brutally murdered at home. The killer was clearly a seasoned professional. The police found no useful clues at the scene, only a taunting capital letter left behind: Z.

P.S. The CP is the System. The only people he kills are irredeemable villains. Neither the protagonist nor the love interest is quite right in the head.

Theme: Face difficulties head-on.
