The Fox

Tao Yunqian, a Daoist of Lingyun Sect, is ordered to go to Yicheng to exorcise demons. He accidentally enters an imperial mausoleum and barely escapes with his life, only to be pursued by a fox demon.

"Daozhang, I saved you. You should repay me by giving yourself to me!"

"Daozhang, you're so handsome and your cultivation is so profound. Even if I died for you, I'd do it willingly."

Tao Yunqian devotes himself to upholding righteousness and wants nothing to do with worldly affairs. But in the end, he's abandoned by everyone and condemned by thousands. When he falls into a pit of poisonous insects, gravely wounded and near death, the only one who carries him out is that grinning fox, enduring the agony of countless bugs biting him.

"Tao Xuan, Tao Xuan, you can't just leave me behind so easily. Who will drink Luofu Spring with me beneath the locust tree at Wangchuan Manor?"
