A Guide to Caring for Nonhumans

Li Senyuan found a feral child in the wilderness of North America and, in a moment of compassion, took him home. As a result, trouble came looking for him, one thing after another.

First, the animals he kept at home gradually disappeared. Then the people who gave him trouble started getting hurt in strange accidents. And at midnight, he began hearing mysterious howls...

He went outside with a lantern. Beneath the clear light of the full moon, over scarlet flesh and blood, he saw a pair of glowing green eyes.

It seemed he had raised something extraordinary.

The wolf cub had no parents and no past, and didn't even have the awareness of a human being. He wandered alone in the forest until one day he fell into a human trap. A man came toward him, carrying a gun.

The pain and torment he'd expected never came. The man simply picked him up and laughed with carefree charm. "You're a pretty fierce little guy. I like you."

The wolf cub, alone and cut off from the pack, had received a little affection from someone for the first time.

From then on, he harbored that impossible wish for years.

-- I swallowed down all my savage instincts and bestial nature, sheathed my claws and fangs, and begged for a kiss.
