My life hasn't been very happy. Like moss in a dark drain, I've hardly ever had a moment in the spotlight. It's made me an odd, timid person whom few people like.
I used to think my mediocre life was easy to see through to the end of.
Then one day, an unexpected confession text dragged me into a strange and fantastical dream.
The System in the dream looked me over with a grave expression. "You don't seem very happy."
I glared at it and declared, "Whether I'm happy or not, I want to go back to the real world!"
The System seemed deaf. It simply pressed its hands together and said, "May your nightmare never end~"
Leaning against an old tree, I gave up resisting and cracked sunflower seeds as I watched the stunning young man surrounded by a crowd of maids. I pursed my lips. "But why is he in every dream?"
The more beautiful he was, the more vicious his heart.
No matter how many times I was reborn, I could never escape him.
First life: I was born into this world, and when it came time to choose a palace, I used the inside information I got from the System to swiftly snatch the survival disciple token from his trembling little jade-white hand.
He was still a baby then. He pressed his lips together and looked at me, his eyes an astonishing blue, so clear they seemed to hold the entire spring sky.
He was perfectly calm, neither crying nor fussing. Under his gaze, I forgot to breathe for a moment.
A sudden sense of guilt came over me, even though I knew this was just a nightmare that had come out of nowhere, and he was only a fictional character in a dream.
But there was no turning back. My moment of cowardly self-preservation sowed a grudge between us that would last forever.

Second life: I possessed the body of a tall, blonde policewoman. Young girls were mysteriously disappearing one after another in the quiet town under my jurisdiction, and I had to find the culprit quickly and quell the public's anger. My investigation led me to the town's only noble estate. The master's younger son received me, his blue eyes like two pools of melted mint tea with lemon, cool and refreshing.
I was so enchanted by him that I nearly forgot why I'd come.
Luckily, I got back on track just in time.
His smile was soft and gentle, with a hint of shyness. In a voice as sweet as honey, he soothed me: "This won't interfere with your investigation... my darling."
Ahhh, I hate this! This was the first time a handsome young man had called me something so affectionate.
I love it so much!!
So we started dating, though of course it didn't end well.
My investigation was a mess, and my romance fell apart.
In the end, I died at his hands, full of regret.

Third life: I struggled to survive in an apocalypse crawling with impostors. The System didn't let me off the hook. It ordered me to win over the impostor boss of this world as quickly as possible, or the world would eventually collapse.
To save the world and avoid being devoured, I could only do as the System demanded.
Of course, when I was almost done winning him over, I suddenly realized that the boss was actually him.
And just like that, my faith shattered.
He looked at me quizzically. "You seem a little different lately."
I laughed awkwardly.
He didn't even give me time to finish laughing before he reached out and sent me straight to my death.
What a psycho! He got a little suspicious and ended the game right away. At least give me a chance to run!
Fourth life: I was crammed into a shabby rental with nine strangers. The walls were covered in photos of the same person, and the note left on the table as a clue to our escape read: "This is my wife. Please help me find her."
I stared at the photos covering the walls, my heart sinking.
Help!!
Doesn't that man's wife look exactly like me in real life?
Theme: What doesn't kill me makes me stronger.
