The Inedible Sacrifice

[Notice: This is finished! The next novel will be Esports: Open Flirting vs Secret Crush. Click my profile to check it out.] Caught in a conspiracy between humanity and Takamagahara, the resurrected Yamata no Orochi is to be sealed away a second time. But the sacrifice trapped in the cycle of reincarnation alongside the evil god says this: "I offer you my soul. I offer you my life. I offer you my loyalty." He will slay every obstacle in the god's path, until the evil god breaks free of the seal and reclaims his throne, then devours him. * However, this vow repeats in every cycle of reincarnation, and the sacrifice never remembers what happened in the previous one. At first, the god didn't mind. He liked watching the sacrifice offer himself up again and again, until one day... "I offer you my soul..." "No. You have to offer me your love first." Orochi interrupted the sacrifice's vow through gritted teeth. Bai Xia was baffled. "Listen. In the last cycle, you were deeply in love with me. You wanted to cuddle up to me when nothing was wrong, and kiss me whenever something happened. You forget every time, but I'll remind you every time," he said. * Much later, with all his memories restored, Bai Xia murmured, "But, my lord, I didn't cuddle up to you back then. And you were the one who kissed me first." Orochi's lips curled. "But later, you kissed me first far more often." "But that's because..." "Because you love me!!" "Yes, I love you." Setup: Yamata no Orochi paired with a sacrifice who can do just about anything but periodically loses his memory. The story mainly draws on legends of spirits and strange creatures, with an alternate history setting that won't affect your enjoyment. It features reincarnation cycles, similar to quick transmigration. One-on-one romance, happy ending. This is an attempt at a new kind of story. Thank you for your support and patience. Daily updates. Please don't let it pile up unread! Please add my upcoming novels Esports: A Legitimate Online Romance and Senior Brother to your library. I'd be so grateful! Theme: Healing
