Chu Ming is an NPC in an infinite game, but he works in a special card pool.
To make sure he can slack off indefinitely, he introduced a few bugs:
1. A hell card with an insanely, insanely low drop rate, crippled starting stats, and maxed-out negative effects.
2. Forced nesting: a card inside a card inside a card. The prerequisite is drawing one of his other exclusive cards.
Looking at his impregnable gacha firewall, Chu Ming went to sleep, satisfied.
But then a streak of black light flashed across the sky, and before he knew it, someone had drawn him from the card pool!
Because that person had gone for the whole set.
A side card, another side card, and Chu Ming: this person drew them all, without exception!
Chu Ming: ...I hear you. Thanks.
*
Chi Ye, one of the top ten players on the leaderboard, cleared an impossibly difficult hidden instance and livestreamed his reward draw to the whole internet.
Under everyone's watchful eyes, from a card pool with a 99.99% rarity rate, he drew a card that emitted the darkest black light imaginable.
Chi Ye: Nice.
The viewers all placed bets: Brother Chi would take one second to destroy this worthless hell card.
But Chi Ye walked up to the card pool and drawled,
"I've never raised a piece of junk before. Can you even walk? Want me to carry you out of the pool?"
Hearing this, the boy, covered in debuffs from head to toe, looked up and held out his hand. "Yes, please."
Viewers: ??? So they're mutually smitten? A sweet romance!?
*
There are two ways for a card-pool NPC to return to the pool: die and respawn there, or be automatically abandoned by their owner.
Chu Ming would never let himself die, so he planned to fight poison with poison and keep acting like a piece of junk until Chi Ye gave up and sent him home as soon as possible.
But before he could even finish slacking through one instance, Chu Ming accidentally got separated from Chi Ye.
Monsters surrounded him, and the players with him wanted to throw him to the monsters as a distraction.
Chu Ming threw off his blanket:
You love disturbing people's sleep? You love being a pain?
Good. That damn Chi isn't here, so I'm done pretending.
I've held it in since entering this instance. Now I can finally slaughter every last one of you!
Afterward, Chi Ye hurried over.
Chu Ming immediately put on an Oscar-worthy performance, collapsing among the pile of monster corpses and pretending to be dead.
"Looks like I got here too late."
- "Yeah. One more minute and I'd have died back into the card pool."
"Should I carry you out again?"
- "Of course, big brother."
Setup:
1. On the surface, he's a useless card waiting to be pampered. In reality, he's an outstanding actor with a surprising other side. Anyone who disturbs his peaceful life dies (with one exception). The recipient is an atypical beautiful-but-tragic type, composed and elegant, a wolf in sheep's clothing, and a master of controlling the situation. The seme is the devoted owner.
2. My take on infinite-game stories, with both romance and plot.

In the final years of cultivation, spiritual energy wanes and the world descends into madness.
Shen Mo, who has mysteriously lost his memory, has just crawled out of a mass grave when he runs into a cultivator planning to dig up his bones and refine them into pills.
What? He can just get away with that!?
Shen Mo immediately drew his sword and killed him.
Unexpectedly, when the warm blood splashed onto Shen Mo's left hand, a mouth suddenly split open in his palm and swallowed the cultivator whole!
"Yikes!"
Shen Mo sucked in a sharp breath.
What kind of evil spirit had possessed him?!
*
Later, Shen Mo remembered his past.
Back then, the Nine Provinces were in chaos. His master had sent him out to slay evil spirits and save the people...
"And then?"
"Then you took advantage of me being unconscious, stole my corpse, and dumped me in a mass grave. That was downright despicable!"
Hearing Shen Mo's accusations, the red-robed young man opposite him twitched his fingers and lifted the ghost mask covering his face, revealing a face exactly like Shen Mo's.
Smiling, he asked, "You do know you're looking at yourself in a mirror right now, don't you?"
Shen Mo was silent for two seconds, then smiled without meaning it. "...Hehe, just kidding."
The red-robed young man let his smile fade. Reaching out from the mirror, he smoothed Shen Mo's lips.
"If I don't say 'hehe,' Shen Mo doesn't have to say it either."
"After all, I'm Shen Mo too."

Setup: Selfcest pairing, selfcest, selfcest, selfcest!! Red-robed seme, recipient's point of view!
A Chinese-style cultivation story about the resurgence of the uncanny, with my personal flair. The plot and romance move forward together, though the subject matter may make it a little more serious.
Theme: When trouble comes, don't be afraid. Face it with a smile.
