In his previous life, Sun Wukong was manipulated by the Western Tathagata and had no choice but to accompany Tang Seng on his journey to the West to obtain the scriptures. He went unwillingly, to say the least. This enraged Tathagata, who staged the whole fake Monkey King affair. He used a falsehood to bring about Sun Wukong's death, but his master intervened and saved him, allowing him to escape with his life. In this life, Sun Wukong decides to make friends with all the demons and get them to be warm and hospitable. You need one tribulation after another to obtain the scriptures? Well, what are you going to do if there are no tribulations? Honestly, our Great Tang doesn't need any Buddhist teachings brought from the West. Your scriptures are precious, so you'd better keep them in the West! To explain my point of view, I don't actually think Buddhism is particularly shameless. The reason the story is biased toward the Daoist sect is mainly a matter of perspective, since Daoism is the native religion of China. As for the antagonists, Buddha Tathagata and Ran Deng, it's because from their point of view, the Western Buddhist sect matters more. The sacrifices of others are simply sacrifices made for the greater good of Buddhism's rise. Theme:
