The Divine Palace

[Corrupted demoness x the little immortal she dragged down from his pedestal]

"In the 123rd year of my imprisonment beneath the Cangqiong Formation, I finally understood what I'd done wrong."

"I was wrong to believe Que Yujing's lies. Wrong to bow my head to the world."

"Demons are supposed to do evil and kill without mercy!"

"The day I sacrificed Dongzhou to overthrow the Divine Palace, all those who had claimed to worship him abandoned him and fled in panic. I wanted to kill them. He said he loved me, yet drew his sword against me and ordered me to stop. Why should I have listened to him?"

"Ridiculous. I never wanted his love."

"I only wanted him to submit to me."

"I imprisoned him on Qishan and took him night after night. So what if he was the leader of the immortal sects? I'd dragged him down from his pedestal and turned him into a caged bird in my hand."

"And yet this enemy, whom I'd humiliated in every way, stood in front of me to protect me, a demon, when the immortal sects joined forces to hunt me down and drive me into a dead end. Even with the whole world against him, he wouldn't retreat an inch."

"Swords flashed across the sky. Covered in blood, he watched his spiritual core shatter piece by piece before me, then died by disintegrating his own body. He never said a word, not even at the end."

"I couldn't understand why. I had to save him and ask him myself!"

The main story is told in third person.

Neither lead is perfect.

One-on-one romance, happy ending.
