The Tower of Longing

A murder takes place in town, at a brothel. As the only constable around, and a female constable at that, of course I have to charge in and investigate! Then I end up having a few unspeakable encounters with the brothel's madam, like sneaking a peek while she's bathing. Sorry, our innocent little comrade Mo Rufeng definitely didn't do it on purpose, even though she looked several times. I'm terribly sorry about that scene. I'll go wipe my nosebleed. As Mo Rufeng investigates, the truth comes to light, along with a love that has endured for a hundred years. Lighthearted at first, then a mix of sweetness and angst in the middle and later parts. Next historical novel: The Dominant Princess and Her Tyrannical Princess Consort, a lighthearted story. Click the author's page to find it! I've transmigrated! Oh heavens, oh earth, oh my goodness! What did I do? It's not a crime to fall asleep while reading in the library! I've never done anything evil in my twenty years, and I didn't get into a car accident or drown. How could I transmigrate just like that? This transmigration makes no sense! Who did I offend? (Sobbing.) Well, what's done is done. At least I transmigrated as a prince. But before I could even enjoy the good life, they told me I had to take a wife? If my identity is exposed, will I be executed by slicing? Just thinking about that hurts... Are you messing with me? Which great deity did I offend? Fine, I'll marry. At least the match was arranged by my restless Emperor uncle, so I figured she couldn't be that bad. But somehow every woman in the country has heard that I got kicked in the head by a donkey, and they're worried I'm sick and don't want me? What the heck??? Damn it, I'm a prince, all right? In modern terms, I'm rich, handsome, and desirable. How dare you doubt my health, you bunch of chicken feet! Just watch how I, the prince, make my way in this world, and maybe bring home a pretty wife to warm my bed while I'm at it.
