The Little Bodyguard

A lighthearted, sweet romance: Rich heiress x innocent, pure-hearted bodyguard Lately, a girl of about seventeen or eighteen had been following the young heiress of the Li family. She wore a tracksuit and a high ponytail, looked rather country, and didn’t fit in at all with the heiress’s social circle. Someone asked, “Where’d you get this little sister?” The heiress scoffed. “The old man hired her as my bodyguard. I guess he wants to make sure I never show my face in public again.” Later, the heiress not only brought her little bodyguard along to meet all her friends, but also took her home to a family banquet and came out in front of all their relatives. The old man was so angry his hands shook. Pointing at the bodyguard, he demanded, “What did I tell you to do?” The bodyguard answered, “Protect her, watch over her, and never let her out of my sight.” The heiress happily took her bodyguard’s hand. “Darling, I heard your promise.” Before Zhuo Zhi left the mountain, her master had warned her again and again: Men are all rotten. Stay as far away from them as you can. He was afraid someone would snatch away the lovely cabbage he had raised. Six months later, her master came down from the mountain to check on things and watched in horror as his disciple was pinned against a wall, breathing hard and unsteady on her feet. It was downright embarrassing. The person pinning her had no strength to speak of, but with those long legs and slender waist, she really did look like a little demon. Her master slapped his thigh and lamented, “So a cabbage spirit was the one who got my cabbage after all!” P.S. This story was first published in 2018 and has an old-fashioned feel. Some of the characters swear a lot due to aspects of the setting, and in the past the author wasn’t particularly sensitive about forms of address and word choice. These things may leave some readers with a bad impression. If that bothers you, please don’t read this story. Theme:
