After I Brought Nezha Home

[Major warning: When I was writing this, all I could think about was getting a girlfriend. I hit a wall halfway through and cut the outline. The main plot is a mess OJZ]

I thought I’d just raised an ordinary lotus.

Yan Yao is in charge of the Heavenly Court’s modernization project and is a laid-back immortal. Her home is full of flowers and plants, and her newest addition is a stunning lotus.

Then Daji, who had come to pull strings, stormed out, and the Dragon Girl, hoping to land an internship, ran out in tears...

After one strange thing after another happened, Yan Yao finally realized that this lotus was an exceptionally rare variety.

It was Nezha, the Third Prince. There was only one in all the Three Realms.

So, the question is: should she raise him or not?

And how should she raise him?

Years later, someone anonymously asked on the Heavenly Court’s KnowHow how people should view the romance between Nezha, the Third Prince, and Yan Yao.

Yan Yao: Thanks for the invite. I’m in the immortal realm and just graduated from Heavenly Court University. Everyone, keep your secret identities safe and be careful with the gossip. Nezha is right beside me.

1. A mix of all kinds of myths, legends, and folk tales. Modern alternate setting, basically a lighthearted, sweet daily-life story, with plenty of original worldbuilding.

2. Main character is the uke, paired with the Third Prince. Nezha is fierce, handsome, and adorable. It uses elements from Investiture of the Gods, Journey to the West, and the Dragon King’s Sea Palace, and has nothing to do with the Ne Zha movie. Please stop bringing up that ship (

3. Half episodic, beware of out-of-character moments.

The Evil God’s Startup Phase

Qi Zhufang lost all his memories.

But he remembered that he was an evil god.

Evil gods are powerful, mysterious, indescribable, and impossible to look at.

Though there are exceptions.

Qi Zhufang firmly believed that he was useless only because he was badly injured and his true form had been sealed.

To look for clues about his true form, he decided to come up with an imposing divine name, build a following, and make good use of the labor force he already had.

Then he awkwardly realized that humans weren’t so easy to fool.

Qi Zhufang: …

The unknown Mr. Evil God had no choice but to take matters into his own hands, put on his secret identity, and work diligently on the front lines of his followers.

At last, he became an evil god who was revered and loved, his divine name celebrated for all eternity.

If you want to start a business, start by working for someone else.

Work-for-a-living god, work-for-a-living soul, the work-for-a-living god is the god above all gods!

The male lead, Qi Zhufang

1. A lighthearted, sweet daily-life story. It’s not quite traditional, but it does have Lovecraftian elements and a Lovecraftian setting, with lots of original worldbuilding.

2. Fangfang is adorable and comes up with all sorts of strange plans. Even the least capable evil god is far stronger than an ordinary person, so working for a living is obviously a lot of fun!

The love interest might be some Nyarko, or perhaps he’ll cuddle up with his true form.

3. Some inspiration for this story came from the Cthulhu Mythos and The King in Yellow (?).

4. If that all sounds good, then let’s go!
