[Ancient Rome] May All Be True to Themselves Forever

Caligula, the third emperor of Rome's Julio-Claudian dynasty, was known more for his cruelty, violence, and outrageous behavior than for his handsome, refined looks.

When Caligula was still training in the military camps alongside his father, Gnaea was always at his side.

Back then, Caligula was gentle and shy. After each inspection of the camp, he would bring her a dewy rose and sing her a country tune in clumsy Greek.

Until an arrow pierced Gnaea's chest.

She fell into Caligula's arms. For the first time, she saw the boy she had always known as gentle and soft-hearted with blood-red eyes and a dark, vicious expression, like a bloodthirsty beast.

"They will pay the price they deserve for what they've done."

When Gnaea opened her eyes again, Caligula was already seated high on the throne, a ruler whose word was law throughout the empire.

The olive wreath was still stained with blood, yet that familiar, shy smile returned to his pale, handsome face.

"You're finally awake, my love."

*My own take on the fandom, with plenty of original headcanons. Not historically researched.

*Both are each other's first love. A clingy young couple in love.

*An experimental story where I try out a new writing style.

Premise: May all beings always be true to themselves.
