[Ancient Egypt] Blade Temperature: Three Degrees

Ameni had a difficult childhood. Her parents died young, but fortunately, she was adopted by the Amun priest Wesirmerie. From then on, she grew up cherished and never faced another hardship.

Except for the time she was captured by desert bandits and lost her way in the boundless sands.

To stay alive, Ameni claimed to be a messenger of the Sphinx. A young merchant passing by rescued her, and as they spent their days together, a romance blossomed.

But when she learned his true identity, all their affection and tenderness gave way to fear.

That night, Ameni left without a word, taking the bracelet they had exchanged as a token of their love.

Back in Thebes, she refused to tell anyone about her disappearance and kept numbing herself, pretending none of it had ever happened.

Then the new pharaoh ascended the throne, and his first act was to announce a procession from the Karnak Temple to the Luxor Temple.

Ameni followed at Wesirmerie's side. By good fortune, she was at the very front of the crowd, but she kept her head bowed, afraid to look at the palanquin carrying the pharaoh.

Unexpectedly, the palanquin stopped right in front of her.

The young pharaoh Thutmose bent down, lifted her chin, and smiled as he made Ameni meet his gaze.

"It's been a long time, Ameni."
