[Cthulhu Mythos] After the Fall of Heaven

Matilda Channing has many identities: equestrian, skiing enthusiast, daughter of a millionaire, top student in the physics department at Miskatonic University, and the belle of Arkham's social scene.

She is the envy of all, a girl born with every advantage. But her smooth-sailing life comes to an abrupt halt during a scientific expedition to Egypt.

All her companions perish in the Temple of a Thousand Pillars, deep in the boundless desert. Only Matilda survives.

The city of sin descends into chaos and madness with the arrival of an ancient deity. Delusion takes the place of reality, and all that meets the eye is blindness and folly.

A tall figure as dignified as a pharaoh bends toward Matilda, the only person in the city who has kept her sanity, and smiles sweetly.

"Darling, welcome to the world after heaven has fallen."
