I Beheld the Spring Light

Wen Xiang, the eldest daughter of the Wen family in Hangzhou, was engaged to Shen Qi, the eldest son of the Shen Group, when they were children.

Shen Qi was a carefree playboy, and wanted nothing to do with cool, distant Wen Xiang. He even declared in public, "Wen Xiang is a sickly girl. No matter how beautiful she is, how could she ever be good enough to marry into the Shen family?"

After the Wen couple died unexpectedly, the Shen family brazenly bought up Wen shares, intending to swallow the company whole.

Shen Qi couldn't even wait a moment. At the funeral, he showed up with his lover and broke off the engagement in front of everyone.

Her slight, fragile figure reminded him of a cat he had once kept as a child.

She stopped in front of Ruan Yu, gave him a wad of cash, and asked him to sing a song for her.

Only later did Ruan Yu learn that the song had been intended as a birthday gift from her parents.

That day was both her birthday and the anniversary of her parents' deaths.

Everyone thought Wen Xiang was heartless. She hadn't shed a single tear at her parents' funeral, and showed no mercy to the family of the childhood sweetheart she had been engaged to.

Only Ruan Yu had seen her at her softest.

One glimpse was enough to make him fall.

Years later, Nephrit, a once-in-a-generation genius idol singer who had briefly blazed across the rock scene, suddenly posted a photo of his marriage certificate and changed his relationship status to "Married."
