The Hero Is Smitten by Beauty

As an honest-to-goodness pretty-face enthusiast, Searle became a hero solely because, when he was little, his mother read him bedtime stories about a princess of extraordinary beauty. And the beautiful princess was trapped in a dragon's lair and needed a brave warrior to save her. So Searle slung his greatsword over his back and set out to slay the dragon and rescue the princess. At long last, he reached the dragon's cave. He looked at the dragon, who had taken human form, then at the bedraggled princess beside it, and fell silent for a long while. “So it has to be a princess?” Searle asked sincerely. “Why can't it be the hero?” The dragon, even more beautiful than the princess: “Huh?” Searle: “Here's the thing, Mr. Dragon. I fell in love with you at first sight (with your face). Please don't be so hung up on gender and species.” Theme: We should keep our eyes open to beauty and not judge someone's inner nature by their appearance.
