A note before you start: The inspiration for this blurb comes from the anime Sunday Without God.
On an ordinary Sunday, humanity suddenly heard a sigh.
"Humanity does not deserve superheroes."
Then everyone suddenly realized that the solitary Fortress of Solitude standing amid the polar glaciers had vanished without a trace; the silent watchers atop Gotham's gargoyles had disappeared; the lights in New York's tallest building would never shine again; and the figure leaping among the towering buildings of Queens was gone...
Earth had lost its superheroes.
In the first year without superheroes, humanity rejoiced, believing the world would be better without them.
In the second year without superheroes, humanity was shocked to discover that the world had become worse. Crime rates and accidental deaths began to soar.
In the third year without superheroes, a novel about superheroes appeared out of nowhere and swept across the world in a matter of months. Humanity finally saw the pain, confusion, loneliness, and grief of superheroes.
In the fourth year without superheroes, the superhero culture industry developed rapidly. Humanity began to miss superheroes, and the trending topic "Find the Superheroes" topped Twitter's worldwide trends.
When Adele published the final chapter of her superhero novel, it happened to be the seventh year since the superheroes had disappeared. She made a quiet wish in her heart for them to return.
God sensed the sincerity of Adele's wish, and granted it.

The day after finishing her novel, Adele began finding injured cats one after another.
The first was a gentle blue-and-white cat with blue eyes, who liked to lie on Adele's belly and ease her menstrual cramps. The second was a cool, silent, all-black Maine Coon, who liked to quietly keep her company while she worked. The third was a lively, proud golden-shaded cat with short legs, who liked to wrap its fluffy tail around her wrist and rub against it. The fourth was a young, energetic, playful Siamese who always purred contentedly when Adele stroked it.
Adele had only just begun to experience the joys of having cats when, as the days passed, she realized there was something odd about them.
Her cats were sweet and adorable, and never turned down her kisses, pets, or cuddles. But she discovered they could not only smash a stone table with one punch and run across rooftops, but also chat online and shoot spider silk!
Adele, deep in thought: "...Something seems off."
Theme: You only realize how precious what you had was after you lose it.
