My Study Abroad Diary

A story about a group of international students in Toronto who grow up together.

[Blurb] In the summer of 2008, Tong Xiaoxiao excitedly went with her parents to see the Beijing Olympics.

In the autumn of 2008, after having one last meal with her newly divorced parents at Pudong Airport, she dragged her suitcase onto a plane and flew thirteen hours to high school on the other side of the world.

An unfamiliar place, a school where everyone spoke gibberish, the ache of homesickness, and the neurotic boy living upstairs.

Her chaotic teenage years had only just begun.

My youth didn't include five years of exam prep and three years of mock exams, but it did include endless Shakespeare and The Great Gatsby.
