The Days I Paid for Merit

A supernatural comedy with thrills, but no horror! Extra story: The Days I Returned to the Immortal Realm to Slap Faces

Synopsis: A once fearsome and powerful great demon wakes from a long slumber, only to find that many years have passed. The mystic world has fallen into decline, and the enemies she once knew have all vanished completely. It seems she’s become a winner in life. (Not really.)

Her long slumber has also left Jiang Ye without flesh and blood, her body reduced to a skeleton and her power diminished to a tenth of what it once was. To regain her strength, she has no choice but to start earning merit.

From then on, whenever there’s a chance to earn merit, she gets involved. What can she say? Even a tiny mosquito is still meat!

At first:

Demons and monsters (furious): You think you’re worthy?

Later:

The demons and monsters weep and plead: Come on, don’t hold back just because I’m a delicate flower! Exorcise me, please, please, please!

After all, getting exorcised is better than being struck until our souls are scattered.

Jiang Ye: ...These things might be sick in the head.

The people in the industry go from looking down on her to gaping in astonishment. Someone this ruthless really is... so satisfying to watch!

At last, one day, the ghosts are the ones scared witless by us humans.

Jiang Ye says that everything would be perfect if Heaven weren’t so stingy.

Synopsis: Jiang Yufeng, a top-tier star in the entertainment industry, is rumored to have had his relationship exposed, putting his public image at risk. At the press conference, a tiny figure suddenly leaps up and kicks him in the face.

“As a member of the Jiang family, you actually got tricked by such a little thing. What a disgrace!”

As he faints, Jiang Yufeng sees a person the size of his palm appear before him, dressed in gorgeous ancient-style clothes.

“...Thumbelina?” That’s his first thought before passing out.

But after he wakes up, he learns that she isn’t Thumbelina at all. She’s an ancestor of the Jiang family from more than two thousand years ago.

Jiang Lingyu is a zombie. After sleeping for too long, her powers have weakened, and she has no choice but to shrink to the size of a palm.

More than two thousand years ago, the Jiang family was a renowned and prestigious clan. As a young lady of the family, Jiang Lingyu grew up in luxury, surrounded by fine clothes and sumptuous food. After becoming a zombie, she had even more delicious food, beautiful clothes, and countless servants.

But that was all more than two thousand years ago. When she wakes up in her tomb over two millennia later, she discovers that the Jiang family has long since fallen into history. The Jiang family’s present-day descendant is a poor, low-status man who has nothing going for him except a decent-looking face.

Jiang Lingyu: The chives in the fields keep getting worse with every harvest!

Theme: Democracy and self-reliance!
