Fortune-Telling at the Women's Federation in 1970

The previous idea left me uninspired, so I’ve decided to write this one first! (Anything may change before the story begins.)

Blurb:

As a half-breed of a Black Tortoise and a mirage beast, Shi Zhao can divine the future, revisit the past, and weave dreams and illusions for others.

One day, she becomes the fifth daughter in an eight-person household in the 1970s. While her family argues over who should go to the countryside, Shi Zhao has already quietly used her divination skills to secure herself a good job.

She becomes a humble clerk at the Women’s Federation office.

There’s never a dull moment at the Women’s Federation. One family’s married couple can’t get along, another’s in-laws are cruel, and some people start brawling at the office at the drop of a hat.

Seeing that Shi Zhao looks young and inexperienced, the senior staff hand her the difficult cases.

A housewife comes to the Women’s Federation in tears after being abused by her husband, but repeatedly refuses to divorce him and even defends him? Easy!

That night, she dreams of a future in which her husband beats her to death and buries her body. The next day, she comes to the Women’s Federation, crying and begging for a divorce.

A woman is infatuated with a man who rose from poverty, ignores her parents’ warnings, and insists on marrying him. That night, she dreams of a future in which she marries him, he cheats on her, and her family fortune is swallowed up. Terrified, she grabs a bucket and runs away in the middle of the night.

There are also grandparents who abuse children, honest people exploited by their in-laws, students molested by teachers...

Before long, Shi Zhao is thriving at the Women’s Federation. In private, everyone calls her:

“The Oracle!”

Shi Zhao is baffled. Huh? The Oracle? I don’t know anything about that. I’m just doing my job!

Theme: Be independent and strong!
