My Regretful Daoist Partner

Mu Chao saved someone. He was an immortal revered on a sacred mountain.

Mu Chao married him and became his cultivation partner, and he brought her to the mountain.

On the mountain, what Mu Chao heard most often was people mocking her and pitying the immortal.

[The immortal and Fairy Yunliao were childhood sweethearts, a match made in heaven. But this mortal woman wedged herself between them, using her past kindness to demand repayment and forcing the immortal to marry her...]

Mu Chao heard it all and never took it to heart. She knew that she and the immortal loved each other, and that their love was mutual.

Until one day, she overheard the immortal and Fairy Yunliao talking, and learned the truth about so many things.

It turned out the immortal had married her, a mere mortal, only to prove his Dao by killing his wife, and to take the immortal bone within her. Fairy Yunliao had been tainted by demonic energy, damaging her immortal bone, and needed a replacement.

And Mu Chao, an ordinary mortal, possessed a flawless immortal bone.

After learning this, Mu Chao said nothing. She only asked the immortal for a dagger.

On the seventh day of the seventh month, celestial magpies formed a bridge.

The immortal's sword pierced Mu Chao's chest. But just as he was about to take her immortal bone,

a sharp dagger, gripped in a hand as white as jade, plunged into his heart.

Mu Chao, usually as gentle as water, looked up at him with shining eyes and a tender smile.

On the seventh day of the seventh month, Changyao, the immortal revered on the sacred mountain, fell to the demonic path, his black hair turning white.

That same day, tens of thousands of miles away in the Demonic Realm, its ruler slowly awoke.

Three thousand years ago, the Demon Venerable Mu Chao had fallen into a deep sleep because of her mixed divine and demonic bloodline. The only cure was the heart's blood of a primordial deity.

As it happened, Changyao, the immortal revered on the sacred mountain, was a primordial deity, and his heart's blood could cure her.
