[Ancient Egypt] The Banks of Yalu

Alanke's parents were imprisoned after offending the priest of Amun. She had already narrowly escaped being devoured by Sobek, only to be sold off as a lowly slave.

The noble son of the Pharaoh stepped in to save Alanke. He not only recommended her for a position as a temple scribe, but also promised to clear the names of her parents and all the other innocent people who'd been wrongfully accused.

Knowing she could never repay this kindness, Alanke did everything she could to help Akhenaten, even defying the priest of Amun, who was at the height of his power, and offering her life in sacrifice.

Akhenaten returned to the world of the living, treading over the ghosts of the reed fields, determined to send everyone who had betrayed him in the past to suffer in the underworld.

He prayed to Horus, willing to give up everything, all for the flames of revenge to rise across this land.

Akhenaten thought he was already cold enough, but Hathor's power turned his reason to ashes in an instant.

From the moment he first met Alanke, Akhenaten indulged and doted on her with all his might, until he bound himself with his own hands in the name of love.

"I offer these poems to you. If my name is fortunate enough to reach the distant future, I hope the way I remember you will be as extraordinary as the tales people tell."
