Sentinels Always Faint from Their Spirit Companions

The Sentinel knocked out all the other students in his year as soon as he enrolled. At the entrance ceremony, he even announced that he would never link with any Guide unless that Guide could knock him unconscious. The Guide was an utterly unremarkable, ordinary Guide. When they first met, he amiably introduced his spirit animal: a fluffy, black, adorable... spider. The Sentinel was afraid of nothing except spiders. When the spider crawled along their clasped hands and into his sleeve, his senses successfully overloaded. In other words, the Sentinel was scared unconscious. When he woke up, the whole school was saying that the Sentinel had found his Guide. Looking at the little spider in the Guide's hand, the Sentinel very much wanted to overload again. The Sentinel had never been able to figure it out.
