Legend of the East Sea

It is said that the nine sons of the dragon each have their own preferences. 1. The eldest, Qiuniu, loves music and crouches atop the heads of zithers. 2. The second, Yazi, is bloodthirsty and loves to fight, so he is carved onto the rings and pommels of swords. 3. The third, Chaofeng, resembles a beast. He is fond of danger and loves to look out into the distance, so the decorative beasts on the corners of palace roofs are his likeness. Some also believe he is a phoenix with a dragon's bloodline. 4. The fourth, Pulao, bellows loudly whenever he is struck, so he serves as the beast-shaped handle on large bells, helping their sound carry far. 5. The fifth, Suanni, resembles a lion and loves smoke and sitting, so he is usually depicted on incense burners, swallowing smoke and breathing it out. 6. The sixth, Baxia, also known as Bixi, resembles a turtle and has teeth. He enjoys bearing heavy loads, so he is the turtle beneath stone tablets. 7. The seventh, Bian, resembles a tiger and loves lawsuits, so his likeness appears on either side of prison gates and the main halls of government offices. 8. The eighth, Fuxi, has a dragon's body and a refined love of literature, so he coils around the tops of stone tablets. 9. The youngest, Chiwen, also known as Chiwei or Chiwen, has a moist mouth and a coarse throat and loves to swallow, so he became the roof-ridge-swallowing beast at either end of a palace roof, where he is said to prevent fires and disasters. The description above was all taken from Baidu Baike. The author is terrible at writing blurbs and this is also her first time writing a xianxia novel, so she has only one sentence to describe this story: "The dragon has nine sons, and each is different." Or, to elaborate a little, the Dragon King of the Eastern Sea has nine sons in all, but every one of them falls in love, and every one of them breaks the laws of Heaven. The Dragon King cannot beat them or scold them. He can only swallow all his grievances. But today, his little daughter, the tenth princess of the Dragon Palace of the Eastern Sea, insists on saying all of it out loud.
