Du Xirong had no parents. At 22, she signed an agreement with the Earth transmigration System in exchange for a huge sum of money. The agreement stated that she would be sent to the planet Altamu, deep in the Milky Way. If she managed to stay there for three months, she could go home.

Du Xirong: Is that planet nice?

System: Very.

As she chipped away at rocks for grueling labor in Altamu's endless mines, Du Xirong said, "Nice? My ass! I want to go home!"

System: Stay for three months and you can go home. Please be patient.

Du Xirong: For that huge sum, I'll put up with it.

At mealtime, another miner said, "Don't listen to the System's nonsense. I've been here for six months, and I still haven't gone home."

Du Xirong: And then she died.

Before long, Du Xirong used her wits to secure a meal under the command of Prince Shuerlis of District Five. A famine had struck Altamu. The planet's most important food source, the red-striped tree, was dying in great numbers under the unbearable heat. If they didn't find a substitute food soon, everyone on the planet would die.

Shuerlis took on the responsibility, and Du Xirong successfully persuaded him to join her in searching for food in the primeval forest.

Deep in the forest, in a valley, Du Xirong looked at the expanse of green and wept with excitement.

Shuerlis: Alien, have you never even seen grass?

Du Xirong: That's not grass! That's a whole field of rice!

Shuerlis: What's rice?

Du Xirong: Ha. What a bumpkin.

This is a story about an Earthling teaching aliens to grow rice and all kinds of food, helping them survive a famine~
