I originally planned to start this story recently, but during the novel coronavirus outbreak, the author had a brain fart [...] and forgot that another novel I'd already written was scheduled to start on February 2. I only found out today that it had already gone live and updated for four days, so I can only write that one first.
My friends and family laughed at me all night today. I'm in tears.
This story teaches us that you should absolutely never write a story in advance.
Asahi Ao is someone who simply cannot die.
Neither human firearms, magical flames, nor the powers of demons and exorcists seem capable of killing him for good.
After traveling the world and failing to find a way to end his life, Asahi Ao gave up and casually followed a passing fox with bad intentions. He ended up at a special Honmaru, where he became its Saniwa.
He'd heard that the sword spirits in this Honmaru were all purified Time Retrograde Army soldiers. Every one of them was ferocious and powerful, and many Saniwa had already met their end. Asahi Ao's eyes lit up. Surely these fallen gods could finally help him die!
So... on his first day at the Honmaru, Asahi Ao watched Kashuu Kiyomitsu hold a sword to his neck. He smiled with the satisfaction of a proud father, and even splashed Kashuu Kiyomitsu's face with blood.
Kashuu Kiyomitsu: "...╭(°A°`)╮This is bad, this is bad! The Saniwa has killed himself!"
All the swords who rushed over: "!!!! We were only trying to scare you, Saniwa!"
Asahi Ao: "Ah... even the gods can't kill me? How sad. So sad I ate twelve buckets of KFC."
Spoiler version:
In the third year after the Saniwa died, the sword spirits discovered they had been reborn and returned to the moment their Saniwa had first entered the Honmaru.
But... was something wrong with their memories? Why was it that now, even though they no longer wanted to hurt him, he kept trying to kill himself?
Content warnings:
#The story is mainly from the top's perspective, but there may not necessarily be romance in the main text. The swords have one-sided feelings. The worldbuilding is unique, and the author's imagination goes completely off the rails.
#Asahi Ao has many secrets. Eight out of ten things he says are lies, so don't believe his endless nonsense.
#The sword spirits are reborn. After Asahi Ao died in the previous timeline, they returned to the past and waited for the Saniwa to come back.
#They don't all return at once. It starts with Kashuu Kiyomitsu.
#The swords aren't villains. Don't believe the "facts" you hear from the characters at the beginning. The sword spirits are all good kids.
