Become Barbecue

A mysterious ticket brought Jiang Weisheng to a city that didn't appear on any map.

The locals were simple and kind, and the neighbors were friendly. The only small drawback was... they didn't seem to be human?

Jiang Weisheng packed his bags, ready to make a quick getaway. But then a piece of raw meat drying at a neighbor's caught his attention. So fresh and tender! Why not... skewer it and grill it?

After his grilled skewers earned five-star reviews from the neighbors, the landlord generously invested in Jiang Weisheng's late-night barbecue shop, which soon became a sensation across the city.

Jiang Weisheng: "I refuse to work for a nonhuman rich landlord under the table! Unless room and board are included."

Then one day, Jiang Weisheng discovered the secret behind his ingredients.

"Boss Jiang, you're a real pro! I never knew my thigh meat was so tender and juicy! It's much tastier than the Zhuyan next door. How could the old edition of the Classic of Mountains and Seas leave this out... Unforgivable. Better add some more scallions and grill another skewer!"

Jiang Weisheng: "??? Wait, what kind of meat did you say I grilled?!"

The landlord yawned lazily nearby. "You've eaten your way through the entire Classic of Mountains and Seas, and you're only figuring it out now?"

Couple: an unemployed man turned barbecue shop owner x a reclusive divine landlord. 50% late-night delicacies, 50% supernatural suspense, with plenty of comedy.

A man who has eaten his way through the entire Classic of Mountains and Seas vs. a man who rules over it all. Both are strong, and they take turns on top.
