Her family got Su Guo transferred into Class 9 of Grade 11, where all the top students gathered. She thought she was about to witness a whole realm of academic gods.

But as soon as the teacher left, the class burst into the loudest breakfast-eating noises imaginable. He Zhi, the handsome boy, thought the new cute girl looked rather pitiful as she stared blankly at them eating noodles.

"Want to try some?"

Six months later.

He Zhi crouched beneath Su Guo's window. "Su Guo, hurry up and jump down!"

"I can't, I'm scared!"

"What are you scared of? I'll break your fall from below!" But Guoguo was still too chicken, so He Zhi resorted to a last-ditch threat. "If you don't come down, I'm going off for skewers with the others."

"Wait, don't! I'm coming down." Su Guo shut her eyes, gritted her teeth, and jumped.

He caught her. When she opened her eyes, the stars in the night sky seemed to overlap with the bright, sparkling eyes of He Zhi.
