This Panda Won't Back Down

[A little sweet treat to help you relax and unwind.] - Reborn as a wild panda cub, the fluffy, round Yuan Jinli takes laziness to the extreme. He spends half his time eating and the other half sleeping. His only unexpected decision is to adopt an injured little Chow Chow as a pet. The little Chow Chow looks fluffy and adorable, but is a formidable fighter. It can hunt for food and even take on the other fierce beasts in the forest. The giant panda cub, who only wants to lie around and eat, gets along wonderfully with it, until a magnificent spaceship arrives in their remote backwater to welcome their God of War home. Yuan Jinli: What God of War? Isn't this the dog I raised? In more advanced star systems, the more evolved the species, the more forms it can take. Yuan Jinli watches helplessly as the Chow Chow, once its injuries have healed, transforms into a mighty, towering lion. It's taller and stronger than he is, and can even turn into a handsome, upright beastman... Jinli: What do I do if my pet's legs are longer than mine?! QAQ [An easygoing, relaxing, cute little story. There's not much to it besides cuteness.] Note 1: An animal story with a mountain of author-created details. Human form appears later. Note 2: Slice of life. They joke, bicker, and fall in love. See the character list for the pairing. The romance runs throughout the whole story; the worldbuilding and plot serve the romance. There's no grand scope, just a cozy, sweet story. A fairy tale. The mansion is opulent and full of rules, but the only thing his billionaire father asks of him is that he spend five million every month. Apparently, only if he does this can the family prosper forever. Qi Yunshi: You're kidding, right? Later, after his accounts are checked every month and any money he fails to spend is posted in the family group chat for a "public execution"... Qi Yunshi protests: You don't love me at all! You only love the money I spend! His stern but warmhearted father: It's only five million. Show some ambition. His graceful and wise mother: My dear boy, keep it up! Mom believes in you! His shrewd and capable older brother: Five million is just the beginning. At this rate, it'll take you fifty years to spend three billion. That's nowhere near enough. Qi Yunshi: ... Qi Yunshi is so upset that he squats by the roadside and eats a jianbing worth a whopping 32 yuan. Don't ask. It's all part of spending extravagantly! * After returning to his wealthy family, Qi Yunshi suddenly realizes he's actually inside a melodramatic revenge novel. The protagonist is his aloof and proud classmate, Gu Yuhang. Gu Yuhang is breathtakingly beautiful, but his life is full of hardships. He's forced to get involved with several scumbag pursuers, and suffers until he meets a tragic end. Even Qi Yunshi can't bear to watch him suffer. As a minor character who only appears a few times in the book, he decides to help Gu Yuhang along the way. It's all for the sake of spending money, anyway. Especially after learning that scumbags one through four will all have to treat him with the utmost respect and call him Young Master Qi, Qi Yunshi has no reservations. He makes it clear to everyone through his actions: Gu Yuhang is mine. Got it? Later, once everything is over, Qi Yunshi dusts himself off and pats Gu Yuhang on the shoulder. "Don't take it to heart, buddy. You're still you. You don't belong to anyone." "Mm." The handsome young man gazes deeply at him, his lips curving into a faint smile, his expression inscrutable. "But... you belong to me." Qi Yunshi: ? * The world is nothing but drifting clouds to me. You are the only light in it. [Coming soon 2: The Best Stock, please add to your favorites] Blurb: An accident leaves my husband, whom I married by agreement, with something wrong in his head. He thinks we live in a stock-picking romance novel. I'm the universally adored protagonist, fought over by countless people, while he, although still my husband for now, is merely a cannon-fodder pursuer who's about to be written out of the story. This gives me a serious headache, because in his eyes, everyone around us is either a high-value stock or a doomed extra. They all have the same goal: To kill him and keep me for themselves. And somehow, what we say is now heard as: What I say: "Honey, it's time to take your medicine." What he hears: "Darling, it's time to drink your medicine." Apparently, to avoid being killed, he starts fighting back with all his might, working hard to become the perfect husband and the best stock in the readers' eyes. After a while, our friends notice that my usually courteous and distant husband has suddenly become extremely ambitious and clingy. Friend: "Is your husband in love with you?" Me: "No. He's just acting out a real-life survival game." Theme: Care for the environment and protect animals.
