Shanhai Idol Entertainment Co., Ltd.

Su Xuan owns an idol management company that houses a few monsters from the Classic of Mountains and Seas. But with no job offers, everyone at the company, from the boss to the staff, has turned into a couch potato. They lounge around doing nothing all day.

Then one day, Su Xuan awakened the ancient soul of a Pixiu and unlocked certain instincts...

The monsters: "Oh no! That ancient little miser who loves money more than life is back!"

When Su Xuan came to, he asked a question straight from the soul: "A couch potato? What's that? How can a decent person become a couch potato?"

With a wave of his hand, the company began recruiting monsters of every kind and expanding its business. In addition to stage performances and variety shows, they'd perform on the street, set up stalls, catch ghosts, and exorcise demons. If you paid, they were in!

"From today on, our motto is: No more couch potatoes, just big profits!"

And so, from that day on, the outside world kept seeing all kinds of bizarre news.

"Breaking! The boss of Mountains and Seas and his idols joined forces to catch a fugitive as soon as they left the stage! The fugitive was completely bewildered!"

"During a variety show recording, the boss of Mountains and Seas and his idols rescued a man who accidentally fell from a building! The man later wept as he thanked them!"

"A famous haunted-house exploration streamer ran into the boss of Mountains and Seas and his idols. The three of them appeared to be performing a ritual in the middle of the night!"

"A chain-reaction crash occurred on a certain road. One man suddenly went berserk, acting crazed, but the boss of Mountains and Seas arrived in time to subdue him!"

The public: Why are you people from Mountains and Seas everywhere?

The monsters (the original crew and those who were tricked into joining later): Boohoo! Go ask that deranged Pixiu!

Gu Shuo used to know that Su Xuan loved handsome men best, so whenever they met, Su Xuan would keep sneaking glances at him.

Later, he discovered that Su Xuan had fallen in love with money. Now those furtive glances were always aimed at cash.

After some thought, Gu Shuo went to see him. "Got any work for nine yuan? I want to get a little marriage booklet at the civil affairs bureau."

...Su Xuan's eyes turned back to him, shining brightly.

"For nine yuan, I can get a little booklet that'll drive you into bankruptcy!"

Blurb:

Xia Jing runs a safe house in a horror world.

While everyone else tries to escape their instance, he grows flowers in the safe house.

While everyone else fights monsters, he cooks delicious meals in the safe house.

What if someone breaks in?

Pay with any one item, such as the faceless woman's teeth, a sea monster's strand of hair, or a nightmare demon's tongue, and you can rest in the safe house for one night.

Rest assured, monsters won't dare come near. Along with a comfortable room with a big bed, you'll enjoy delicious food, elegant music, and the safe house's own convenience store.

The store has every kind of little item that might help you clear an instance.

Every Monday, the safe house closes because the manager has to go out and gather supplies.

In one instance, the other players behind him were all fleeing. Xia Jing kicked open the door to the house where the monsters were hiding, a pair of scissors in his left hand and a length of rope in his right. Smiling, he said, "Wow, today's going to be a great harvest."

He raised the scissors and rope, and said gently, "Don't be afraid. It'll be o-ver~ very~ soon~"

The monsters' snarling faces, poised to scare the players, froze in place.

Then they began screaming one after another: "Aaaah! He's back again!"

One day, while heading out to an instance (actually to gather supplies), Xia Jing found the top-ranked human in the entire horror world.

The big shot was lying unconscious on the ground, apparently affected by something and close to death.

Xia Jing crouched down and ran his hands over the big shot's body... to see if there was anything worth taking.

But the big shot suddenly woke up and grabbed his wrist, smiling as he asked, "What are you doing?"

Xia Jing: "..."

Xia Jing took a deep breath, punched the big shot unconscious again, then calmly left with the treasures, privately admitting that it had been a little nerve-racking.

Later, Xia Jing discovered that the big shot had put out a wanted notice for him across the entire horror world :)
