Abnormal

[Top-led, crime investigation story. Blurb to be revised.]

A gruesome dismemberment case brings Shen Chengqi face-to-face with Pei Yan once more.

Thirteen years after they last met, the young beat cop has become one of Weizhou's best-known criminal investigators, while the boy once branded a suspect in his mother's murder has donned a gentle, ever-smiling facade.

“What is the most despairing thing?”

“Maybe it's when good people never get the happy ending they deserve, bad people never get their comeuppance, and those who should stand for justice become friends with evil.”

A crime story.

A top who acts like a gentleman but is really a braggart x a bottom who acts innocent but is deep and calculating.

[Reader's Guide]

1. Top-led. One-on-one, modern alternate setting, mystery and deduction, sweet mutual devotion, with plenty of push and pull, happy ending. Some scenes are told from supporting characters' perspectives when the story calls for it; everything serves the plot.

2. The author's imagination is wild and memory is terrible, so there may be plot holes. Readers who demand rigorous research, beware.

3. Both leads put effort into their relationship. The pairing will not be reversed or broken up, so readers with extreme character preferences should stay away. No ranking comparisons, reposting, or adaptations.

4. The original blurb dates to 2018, with screenshots as proof. Steal my ideas and you'll go bald, choke on water, and pay double for groceries.

5. The cover character design was provided with the artist's permission and is non-exclusive.

Theme: Justice, the rule of law, and the dignity of the judicial system.
