Please Forgive Me, Young Master

This was published several years ago. The whole manuscript is complete, so I'm posting it again. It won't be paywalled.

Lord Shen, who worries himself sick over the heroine every day, X Miss Su, forever full of energy and always flirting with men without meaning to.

A female constable disguised as a man joins the yamen in the south of the city. As bright and sunny as a little sun, she quickly gets along with all the constables.

Lord Shen secretly keeps an eye on her every move. He worries she might get cold or hungry, hurt herself, be taken advantage of by a man, or, worst of all, have her identity as a woman exposed.

So every day after she arrives, Lord Shen has something to fret about.

[Bonus Scene One]

Shen Yizhi: "As an official, one must guard against lust, desire, and selfishness. Ahem, if one serves without flattery or sycophancy, one may remain in the same post for years without promotion..."

Su Xiaoyao cuts him off: "My lord."

"Hmm?"

"...It's kind of jarring to say that while you're in this position."

Lord Shen bears it, and bears it, until eventually he gets used to it.

[Bonus Scene Two]

Shen Yizhi: The person I hold dearest is a girl who disguises herself as a man, has a mysterious identity, speaks and acts without restraint, and has no sense of self-preservation.

Someone asks: Then why do you like her, my lord?

Shen Yizhi thinks for a long while: Perhaps because she fooled so many people by dressing as a man, yet I could tell at first glance that she was a girl.

Reader's Notes:

1. A sweet historical romance in an alternate setting. If it gets angsty, you can bite me.

2. The whole manuscript is complete. One update a day.

3. The line "one may remain in the same post for years without promotion" in the blurb is quoted from the Biography of Zhang Heng.

Theme: The protagonists serve their country and people, and solve cases together.
