Why Are You Unhappy Every Day?

A gloomy little fairy who is unhappy most days x a super sunny, upbeat student council president

S University is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary. The new campus anthem songwriting competition is in full swing, with the requirement that each entry "truly reflect the spirit of contemporary university students."

During the campus voting for more than 180 entries, sophomore Xu Mengmeng's song "Little Gloomy Ghost" takes the top spot. Its lyrics and melody strike a chord with everyone.

-I can't act cute, and no one loves me.

-I'm afraid of socializing, with a severe case of chronic procrastination.

-I don't dare confess to the boy I want to see, and I can't buy the things I like, no matter what.

-I set out each day full of ambition, but no one expects anything of me.

-I have to bottle up all my negative feelings by myself.

-The world is so big, but no one will give me a sip of survival milk.

A cool, deadpan rap overflowing with negativity.

With the entry requirements calling for a true reflection of the spirit of university students, this song seems to have come here to wreck the show...

And yet, it accidentally became a trending topic and nearly made the word "gloomy" synonymous with the school.

The competition organizers, the entire student council, are collectively having a headache.

Jiang Qi, the student council president, has an even bigger headache.

The first time Jiang Qi saw Xu Mengmeng, he thought the words "peaceful and serene" seemed tailor-made for her.

On the tenth day of knowing her, Jiang Qi thought she was really doing her name a disservice...

Cute, my foot. She's gloomy as hell.

-I'll give you half of all my positive energy.

-I'll use the other half to love you.
